MATH 12

3043 - Seniors 1 credit

This course provides further study of topics covered in Math 3 including functions and trigonometry, as well as selected topics from pre-calculus. It is an excellent college preparatory course for those students interested in the sciences, mathematics, or engineering. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Math 3 Regents (formerly Math 3) or Math 3 (formerly Math 3 Basic) and departmental approval. Students have the option to take the New York State Math B Regents exam.

PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS

3042 - Juniors/Seniors 1 credit

Probability is the relative frequency with which random events occur in a long series of trials. Statistics is concerned with methods for drawing conclusions from results of experiments or processes. Topics that will be covered in this course include: set notation, Bayes’s Rule, random variables, Tchebysheff’s Theorem, and analyzing trends and results of polls. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Math 2.

PRE-CALCULUS
