Welcome to Music at St. Edmund Prep. We are pleased to offer many choices in the music field to our students. During the freshman year students will have the choice of several courses. Please note that no experience is necessary! We have had great success in taking students with little or no experience and making them into quality performers within a year. If you do have experience in playing an instrument or singing, we would like to set up an audition so that we can place you into the proper ensembles accordingly.

Students with little or no experience, we offer the following courses:

Introduction to Band (1 Credit)

Students who have experience, we offer the following courses and opportunities:

Concert Band (1 Credit)
Advanced Ensemble/Chamber Music (1 Credit)

Students who love performing and are dedicated to enhancing their craft are encouraged to take Concert Band and or Advanced Ensemble/Chamber Music for all four years.

For Students who are interested in furthering their knowledge of music and performing, we offer the following courses and opportunities:

Beginner Piano (1/2 Credit)
Intermediate Piano (1/2 Credit)
Essentials of Musicianship (1 Credit)
IB Music (1 Credit)
