Religious Studies
The Department of Religious Studies promotes realization of the true self in God by providing opportunities to gain knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Faith, other religious traditions and contemporary social and religious issues facing modern society.
The Department of Religious Studies focuses instruction so that the young men and women who complete the course of study will demonstrate an understanding of the need for moral perfection, intellectual development, a sound personal value system and application of the principles of Christian living through service to the community and to anyone in need.
Saint Edmund Preparatory High School students will, upon completion of their religious studies, identify and assess the skills necessary to objectively, critically, and confidently interpret Scripture, make moral decisions and integrate religious values into individual lifestyles and lifework. The Department of Religious Studies invites all those who share with them the teaching apostolate to live Christ’s Resurrection in a spirit-filled life that begins now, and invites them to work with Christ for the Resurrection of society.
