Yearbook - The Canterburian
At St. Edmund Prep, creation of the annual yearbook is an entirely student-run project; From conception to completion, each book is created entirely by the students, while the faculty advisor takes on a supervisory role. The editors and staff are a hardworking and dedicated group of individuals who are responsible for all aspects of the creation of the book: they determine the theme, they design the layout, they gather the copy and pictures, and they create the pages. This is no easy task - being a part of the yearbook staff requires a tremendous amount of dedication, effort and hard work; but it is also one of the most rewarding activities offered here at the Prep.
Being on the staff of the yearbook affords students a number of different opportunities. As staff members, they learn about journalism and desktop publishing, all the while developing important skills like project management, working against deadlines, and creating a product with a team. The skills acquired while working on the book remain with the students long after graduation. Meanwhile, the spirit of family that is part of the St. Edmund Prep community is also alive and well on the yearbook staff, and on this staff friendships that last a lifetime are formed
