Writing Contest
Attention all 8th Grade Students! You are invited to enter the St. Edmund Preparatory High School Writing Contest. The contest requires you to write an essay about someone who has influenced your life.
The 2009 winner, Beatrice Genco from Visitation Academy, wrote a wonderful essay about a family friend, Julia Masi, who volunteers at various places including New York Cares, Children of the City, Span and Magic Hospital. Ms. Masi taught Beatrice the importance of helping others and how one person can make a difference. Mrs. Genco, Ms. Masi and Beatrice attended an event at the Prep where they were recognized for their contributions. Once again, congratulations to all including Beatrice’s eighth grade teacher Mrs. Occhiogrosso.
Entering is easy and prizes will be awarded. Submission guidelines and rules are below. We look forward to reading your essays. Good luck to all!
