Population of just over 750 young men and women. St. Edmund Prep prides itself on the nurturing environment it provides so that each student receives the attention that he or she needs.

Tuition

$6875. There are no extra, “hidden” fees.  A variety of payment plans are available.

 

Facilities

St. Edmund Prep features three brand new, state-of-the-art science labs. Work was done during the summer of 2006 and the labs opened in September 2006. In addition there are two technology labs offering many work stations with high speed internet access. Several classrooms throughout the building offer "SmartBoard" Technology. Finally, plans are in place to break ground this year on an extension to our building. The centerpiece of the new wing will be a Library & Media center which will occupy the entire first floor. It will be as fine as any school in the city. The second floor will feature a new band room with rehersal space and additional class rooms.

 

Admission

Students who wish to attend St. Edmund Prep must take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools, given on November 10th, 2007. St. Edmund Prep will give very strong preference to students who put us as first choice, but will consider all choices. Students may register online for the TACHS exam at www.tachsinfo.com or by phone at 1-866-618-2247.

 

Scholarships

Awarded based on scores on the TACHS and an interview. Students who list St. Edmund Prep as their first choice will be given very strong preference; only top second choice students will be considered; students who list us third will not be considered. Separate scholarships of $1000.00 each are awarded in the areas in Art and Music annually. Separate application and interview are required.

 

 

Grants

A very limited amount of financial aid for needy families is available, including a grant funded by the faculty and staff of St. Edmund Prep. For more information please contact the Admissions Office.

 

Transportation

St. Edmund Prep is easily accessible to public transportation via the following:

  • B2, B3, B31, B49 buses.
  • B & Q trains via the Ave. U station.
  • St. Edmund Prep is the closest Catholic Co-ed High School to Breezy Point and Rockaway via the Q35 bus.

 

Open House

Open Houses are scheduled for: Sunday, October 14th, 2007, with tours starting at 11:30 AM & 1:00PM; Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007, with tours starting at 7:30 PM.
