NHS Inducts Fifty-Six New Members

On November 17, 2016 the Aurora Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted fifty-six new members. This new class brought the total membership of the NHS to ninety-eight, our largest body of membership ever. The NHS also inducted Mrs. Kate Jones, IB Coordinator as an Honorary Member as voted by the NHS membership.

Our Aurora Chapter of the National Honor Society provides service to St. Edmund Prep and the greater community.  Members of the NHS participate in a weekly peer tutoring program within the school, SEP's annual Street Corner Gourmet project, coordinate an annual Easter Egg Hunt for the lower grades of St. Edmund Elementary School, holds fundraisers to raise money for Breast Cancer research during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and conduct other service projects throughout the year.

Junior and Seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 90 or higher will be invited to participate in the NHS application process, which includes completing an information packet and being interviewed by two members of the Faculty Advisory Committee.  The Faculty Advisory Committee makes all decisions regarding membership.
