The CHSAA has released its All-League Team for Boys Varsity Basketball, and two standouts from St. Edmund Prep are among the honorees. Jordan Williams '17 and Belmin Purisic '17 were voted by the league's coaches to be members of the prestigious All-CHSAA Team for 2016-2017. Williams, who earlier this season netted his 1,000th career point, was second in the CHSAA in scoring with a 20.3 ppg average. The sharp-shooting Purisic paced the Eagles in three-point shooting this season, finishing 8th in the league in scoring average (12.8 ppg).
Step Team to Compete at CHSAA Regional Competition
The St. Edmund Prep Step Team will be competing at the CHSAA Brooklyn-Queens Regional Competition on Saturday March 18th at Queens College. The Step portion of the day begins at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person.
Girls Lacrosse Tryouts
Saturday March 4th from 9:00am – 10:30am and Sunday March 5th from 9:00am – 10:30am in the school gym. All girls from 9th – 12th grade are eligible to tryout. Players must be at both tryouts. All players must have a medical clearance card from the school nurse before they will be allowed to tryout. Golf Tryouts
There will be a golf information/interest meeting on Wednesday, March 8th at dismissal in the school cafeteria. Tryouts will begin on Thursday, March 9th at Marine Park Golf Course. The course is located at 2880 Flatbush Avenue (directly across the street from Toys R Us). All students from 9th – 12th grade are invited to tryout but must have a medical clearance card from the school nurse before they will be allowed to tryout. Handball Team

Winter Sports Dinner to Take Place on March 21st
The Winter Sports Season has now concluded. As is our custom, we will gather together to celebrate the accomplishments of all our Winter teams and individual student-athletes at Buckley’s. Our Sports Awards Dinner will take place on Tuesday, March 21st at 7:00 pm and will recognize the following teams: Girls JV and Varsity Basketball, Boys Freshmen, JV, and Varsity Basketball, Ice Hockey, Boys and Girls Swimming, and Step. The cost is $35 per person. All student-athletes should have received invitations in homeroom this week.
4th Annual Joe Romano Memorial Three-On-Three Tournament
The 4th Annual Joe Romano Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held at St. Edmund Prep on Sunday, March 26th, beginning at 11:00 AM. Join with Eagles alumni, faculty, and current students to honor the memory of Big Joe. Each participant will play a minimum of three games and receive a tournament T-shirt, food, and drink. The cost is $50 for an individual and $150 for a team of four players. Please contact Mr. Dan Wiatre in the SEP Athletics Office to register or for more information.
