Bring Your Own Device

The St. Edmund Prep Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Initiative was designed to provide students with a 21st century digital learning environment . SEP is strongly committed to educational technology as a tool for students to demonstrate understanding through research, collaboration, and application of skills. Our BYOD Program will use personal computing devices to enhance our students’ learning experience through:

  • Enhanced Student Organization
  • Improvement of Note Taking Skills
  • Ready-Access to Information

All students will be able to bring their own technology devices (see list of acceptable devices below) to use during the school day. In choosing to participate in the St. Edmund Prep Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program, students agree to conduct themselves in accordance with the policies set forth for this program, in the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). (See student handbook below)

To gain access to the school network students must register their device with the Technology Department using the form found at the link below.  Students must provide the following information when registering:

  • Student Name
  • Student ID Number
  • Homeroom
  • Device Name
  • Device Type
  • Device's Wireless Network Adapter Media Access Control (MAC) Address

Access to the SEP Wireless network will only be granted to registered devices. The authentication process takes 24 hours to complete. Network access will be available beginning on the next school day after registration. All devices must be registered with the school regardless of a student's desire to use the wireless network or not. If you plan to use a device in the school building, it must be registered.
