Campus Ministry seeks to foster lifelong spiritual growth in our students. We are a community of believers who are inspired to serve. Through programs, retreats, liturgies, and service opportunities, St. Edmund Prep graduates go out into the world with a strong sense of God's love for them and their unique role in God's plan to serve and improve the world.

Worship and Prayer

Prayer is a very important aspect of the Catholic life. The greatest prayer is that of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Throughout the year, we gather as a school community celebrate mass.

• September - Mass of the Holy Spirit.
• November - All Saints Day, the Feast of St. Edmund of Canterbury (Nov. 16), and a Thanksgiving prayer service.
• December - Daily Mass at 7:30 AM during Advent, and a Christmas Liturgy
• February/March - Mass for Catholic Schools Week and Ash Wednesday Prayer Service
• February/March/April - Daily Mass at 7:30 AM during Lent, Holy Week Mass
• May - Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary
• June - Baccalaureate Mass

Sacraments

The seven sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is sacred, significant, and important for Christians. They are special occasions for experiencing God's saving presence. During Lent and Advent, students are invited to encounter God's love and forgiveness in the sacrament of Reconciliation.

Students are invited to serve as liturgical ministers (Altar Servers, Lectors, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). There is a training program and on-going formation for students to learn and reflect on their important role in the worship life of our community.

Preparation for the Sacraments, particularly Confirmation is made available to any student who has not yet received the sacraments of initiation.

Retreats

In the midst of our busy lives, opportunities to pause, reflect, and pray are important as we work to develop and deepen our relationship with God.  Afternoons of recollection held once a month for Freshmen and Sophomores. These afternoons of prayer and reflection help to guide them as they begin their high school careers.

Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to make the Emmaus Retreat. This three day/two night retreat provides an opportunity for a community of participants to deepen their relationship with God and to share their faith with others

Our faculty and staff make retreat each year to encourage them in their special roles as catholic educators.

Cleopas Retreats

Our Cleopas Retreat program gives juniors and seniors the opportunity to share their faith and minister to 8th graders preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. Under the guidance of adult Retreat Directors, our trained student and alumni ministers provide engaging, high-quality youth ministry. During the retreat, confirmandi are encouraged to examine who and what they value as growing adolescents – and how there’s always room for God in that growth.
