Science Teacher
- Provide clear and consistently high-quality science instruction for all students
- Create instructional lesson plans and activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in a meaningful learning experience
- Implement instructional strategies and resources that are aligned with rigor of NYS Science Learning Standards to meet the needs of all students, including those with varying learning styles
- Guide students in preparing to be successful on NYS regents exams and IB exams
- Working collaboratively with other science faculty to foster an environment of bold learning
- Be willing to be International Baccalaureate trained.
- Create a positive classroom environment that is engaging and fosters student growth
- Display a commitment to diversity and create a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- NYS teaching certification in science 7-12 or currently working towards certification
Fine Arts/Design and Technology Teacher
- Teach multiple sections of Technology, and Fine Arts classes in grades 9-12.
- Collaborate with department members to maintain The Michael and Lois Koplin Innovation Center
- Cultivate creativity within each student
- Work with faculty on the increased integration of purposeful technology in their curricula, refreshing existing curricula with innovative uses of technology where appropriate
- Model innovative technology use for other faculty members
- Design and implement lesson or unit structures that are clear, logical, and transparent
- Demonstrate knowledge of content and a wide range of instructional pedagogies
- Create a positive classroom environment that is engaging and fosters student growth
- Display a commitment to diversity and create a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning
- At least one year of teaching experience in one or more of the following disciplines: visual arts, digital arts, art history, design, engineering, digital fabrication, robotics, computer science in a High School setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Computer Science, Education or related field required
- Experience teaching to a range of learners
- Eager to contribute positively to the St. Edmund Prep community
- Willingness to engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Create instructional lesson plans and activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in a meaningful learning experience
