Welcome Back Eagles!

September is fast approaching! For all freshmen, the school year begins on Thursday, September 8 with two days of orientation. All other students, as well as freshmen, will need report to school on Monday, September 12 for level meetings, our opening mass, club fair and back-to-school BBQ. The following is important information which will help all students start the academic year successfully:
  • All students are expected to be in full uniform on opening days. Per school policy, any student who arrives at school who is not in full uniform will be sent home. Only uniforms purchased through Lands’ End are permitted (see our website for details).
  • Students should plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early. In accordance with school policy, students who are late for school receive detention.
  • Summer assignments will be due on Wednesday, September 14. Individual classroom teachers will explain how to submit these assignments on the first day of classes.
  • All students will receive academic planners which include our student handbook; the handbook details our school policies. Students and parents will need to read and sign this handbook within the first week of school.
Thursday, September 8, 2022 – 8:15 – 11:45 – Freshmen Orientation Day One
All freshmen should report directly to the school Gym by 8:15. Students will need to bring their school schedule, pens/pencils, a notebook and a folder for handouts. Students may use backpacks to carry their belongings. Today, freshmen will:
  • Meet their homeroom teachers
  • Get a chance to meet & get to know some of their fellow students
  • Learn the about the building and the school rules
  • Receive their Chromebooks
  • Receive their MetroCards, school ID cards, lanyards and school planners (temporary ID cards will be issued to students who were unable to get ID photos taken over the summer)
The Eagle’s Nest will be open before and after school for students to purchase school locks for their lockers. The cost is $10. Please note, students are only permitted to use school-issued locks on school lockers.
 
Freshmen will be dismissed at 11:45.
 
Friday, September 9, 2022 – 8:15-2:30 - Freshmen Orientation Day Two 
All freshmen should report directly to their homerooms by 8:15. Freshmen will need to be wearing their ID cards/lanyards upon entering the building. Students need: Chromebooks, pens/pencils, notebook and folder for handout and school locks.
 
Today, freshmen will:
  • Meet with their Senior Mentors
  • Get locker assignments (school locks MUST be purchased by today – they will be available for students who did not purchase Thursday – cost is $10)
  • Walk through their school schedule and meet their teachers
  • Receive textbooks for their classes (may be stored in school locker with school lock ONLY). 
The school will be providing lunch today in the cafeteria. Freshmen will be dismissed at 2:30.
 
Monday, September 12, 2022 – All Students Orientation/Mass/Club Fair/BBQ
All students must report to homeroom by 8:15. Every student will be required to show their ID card in order to enter the building. All students should bring their class schedules, pens/pencils, a notebook, and a folder for handouts. Students may use backpacks to carry their belongings. 
 
Today, all students will:
  • attend level meetings with the administration
  • Sophomores, juniors and seniors will receive their MetroCards, school planners, lanyards for school IDs, and locker assignments. School locks will be available for purchase for $10.00
  • attend the opening school liturgy at 10:30. 
School will be dismissed at 11:45. At dismissal, students are invited to join us for the Club Fair, at which they will learn about all the various clubs and after-school activities we offer. Also, every student is invited to attend our annual Back-to-School Barbecue, with music, free food and drink for all students!

Tuesday, September 13, 2022 – All Students – First Day of Classes 
Classes begin!  
 
Today:
  • We will be following a Bell 2, Day A Schedule.
  • Students will be required to wear their lanyards clearly displaying their ID cards upon entering the building, and to keep their ID cards visible throughout the day.
  • Students must be on time. Late students will be required to serve detention at dismissal.
  • Signature pages for the school handbook will be due today.
  • Instructions will be given by teachers about how to submit summer assignments; all summer assignments will be due Wednesday, September 14.
