In his moving homily, Fr. Mark reflected on his experience of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, while a teacher here at the Prep and the ways in which our city and our world were changed. He encouraged us to never stop sharing our stories from that day so that we remember those whose lives were lost, those who bravely served our city, and those whose lives were forever altered. As we begin the new school year he challenged us to ask the Holy Spirit to enliven in us the gifts that we have been given by the Lord so that we may put them to use in our school community and in our world for the good of others.
During the Mass, new leaders of our school community were blessed and commissioned as they begin their unique roles.

Following the Mass, each student was given a card with the name of someone who lost their life on September 11, 2001 so that we may remember them in prayer.
