Ms. Francesca Curtin '82

Francesca Curtin is a senior risk management executive with over 30 years of experience leading global teams in four significant financial markets. Her expansive risk management experience includes a focus on Financial Institutions and Counterparty Credit Risk. During her career, Francesca navigated through a variety of economic cycles resulting in strong crisis management skills as well as executing disciplined growth initiatives during periods of economic expansion. Francesca has vast experience with global regulators earning her credibility within the regulatory community. She executed several strategic initiatives that had long ranging impact on the organization’s ability to respond to market downturns and enhance the infrastructure to improve the company’s operating efficiency and approach to data.
 
At Citi, Francesca held the position of Head of Financial Institutions Risk Management and Counterparty Credit Risk. She led a global team responsible for one of the larger more dynamic and quantitatively driven portfolios at the organization. The role leveraged her fundamental credit analysis skills and honed her expertise in portfolio risk management, stress testing, regulatory engagement and strategic approach to organizational platform and data. Given her broad business perspective, she has the ability to assimilate quickly within new cultures and business environments having led organizations in Sydney, Tokyo and London for over 10 years before returning to New York. Francesca recently retired from Citi.
 
Francesca began her career at JP Morgan Chase where she successfully completed the highly competitive Chase Credit Training Program. She had a progressive career taking on expanded roles throughout her 10-year tenure at JP Morgan.
 
Francesca is a former Board member of Union Settlement Association where she was a member of the Development Committee; the Learning and Development Committee as well as the Nominating Committee. She also worked in a Risk Advisory capacity for Pro Mujer – a Latin American focused Microfinance Agency and was a member of the Citi 401k Investment Committee.
 
Francesca received her Bachelors of Science degree in Finance and International Business from New York University. Francesca divides her time between Naples, Florida and New York City.
