About the Eagle Prep Summer Enrichment Program
St. Edmund Prep’s Summer Enrichment Program provides a unique and exciting opportunity for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to enjoy fun, hands-on activities while learning about topics and ideas in which they are interested. Our young Eagles can choose from two topics for each of the three sessions in the day. Each day students will learn about dynamic concepts and engage in fun lessons taught by knowledgeable SEP teachers. We believe that young minds should be challenged with engaged learning environments, opportunities to grow their faith and character and opportunities to be creative and innovative all while learning how to be a servant leader. Teaching Staff
Each topic will be taught by a member of SEP’s outstanding faculty and staff. Each instructor is highly educated, skilled, and knowledgeable in both the background of each topic and best practices of teaching and engaging students. Classes will be small, and students will be provided group and individualized instruction.

9:00 am - 9:15 am – Morning meeting
9:20 am - 10:20 am – Drama
10:30 am - 11:30 am – Physical Fitness
11:40 am - 12:10 pm – Lunch (students bring their own lunch)
12:15 pm - 1:15 pm – Choose 1 – either Art/Design or STEM
1:20 pm - 2:00 pm – Board Games/Service Project

The concession stand will be open throughout the day for the purchase of snacks and drinks.

Course Descriptions

STEM

Hands on STEM activities that include making catapults, magnetic slime, making circuits with LED lights, building a space lander.

Drama

Theater games, improv and vocals will all be practiced as campers work to create their own mini production.

Physical Fitness

Pickleball, badminton, circuit training, and team work activities.

Art and Design

An introduction to Tinkercad, 3d printing, craft design will intrigue and inspire.

Board Games/Service Project
Discover Twister, Connect 4, Apples to Apples, and much more! Two days will be dedicated to board games and three days will be dedicated to a service project. More details on the service project to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code?

Participants should wear casual comfortable clothes and shoes. T-shirts, shorts, and sneakers are ideal. Revealing clothing is not allowed. Students are encouraged to bring a sweatshirt each day as all program spaces are air-conditioned.

Where will the sessions be held?
Sessions will be held mostly in classrooms, labs, and our gym. Each of these areas is air conditioned and provides appropriate space for students to learn, have fun, and interact. Participants will eat lunch in the student cafeteria, which is also air conditioned.

When will registration close?
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. We hope to keep sessions small so we will close each specific activity once it reaches its limit. We encourage participants to register early to secure their preferred sessions.

Is a medical form required?
Yes. After registering, parents will receive an email with the forms attached. Please complete these forms and return them to [email protected] no later than June 12th.

Are all sessions guaranteed to run?
We anticipate being able to run all activities but do reserve the ability to cancel a particular session if there is insufficient registration. We will inform parents of potential cancellations by June 19th and work to place participants in alternatives in order of preference.

How will lunch work?
Participants should bring a pre-packed lunch in a lunchbox or brown bag that is labeled with their name and able to keep contents cold and fresh. They will keep this with them during the morning and bring it to lunch with them.

Will there be snacks?
Yes, an assortment of drinks and snacks will be available for purchase from concession throughout the day and at lunch

What is your cell phone policy?
Participant personal cell phones are highly discouraged. Participants will be permitted to keep phones with them but expected to have them away for the duration of each program session. During lunch we will encourage participants to engage in conversation with their peers.

When is drop off and pick up? Is transportation available?
Participants may be dropped off starting at 8:45 AM and pick up will begiin at 2:00 PM. Students must identify the caregiver picking them up and each caregiver must be on file and provide a valid picture ID if requested. We are not able to provide transportation.

Is there a refund policy?

If a student registers for one week and withdraws prior to June 1st, a $150 processing fee will be withheld and the remainder of the registration payment will be refunded.
We are not able to refund any registration fees after June 1st.
