Facilities
St. Edmund Prep features three state-of-the-art science labs. In addition, there are two technology labs offering many work stations with high-speed internet access. Our entire building has Wi-Fi available to all students through our 1:1 Chromebook program. All of our classrooms throughout the building offer 4K TVs with wireless projection technology. In 2008, we expanded on the south side of our school. The centerpiece of the new wing is our Library & Media Center, which occupies the entire first floor. The second floor features a band studio with rehearsal space and additional class rooms. The third floor houses the new Michael and Lois Koplin Innovation Center.
Admission
Students who wish to attend St. Edmund Prep must take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS). St. Edmund Prep will give very strong preference to students who put us as first choice, but will consider all choices. Students may register online for the TACHS exam at www.tachsinfo.com or by phone at 1-866-618-2247.
Scholarships
St. Edmund Preparatory High School annually awards a number of academic scholarships to qualified incoming freshmen. These scholarships range from partial to full awards to those candidates who meet the criteria. Those wishing to apply for a scholarship must fill out an application. The application must be completed in full and returned to the Office of Admissions prior to the submission deadline (see Admissions Dates). Late submissions cannot be accepted.
Financial Aid
A very limited amount of financial aid for needy families is available, including a grant funded by the faculty and staff of St. Edmund Prep. For more information please contact the Admissions Office.
Transportation
St. Edmund Prep is easily accessible to public transportation via the following:
- B2, B3, B31, B49 buses.
- B & Q trains via the Ave. U station.
- St. Edmund Prep is the closest Catholic Co-ed High School to Breezy Point and Rockaway via the Q35 bus.
